Also I noticed since becoming a mom I'm way more empathetic for people trying their best at whatever, but lost total patience for maliciously immature behavior. Especially if they are close to my age.

I'm seeing folks draw the wrong conclusion (in good faith or not) from the HAWK attack. HAWK is a scheme that 1. cryptographers were suspicious of and 2. was still in the assessment process. A break is GOOD. It means the process is useful, and it INCREASES confidence in the selected algorithms.

Age Verification implementations aren't really about "how accurate" it needs to be. The perfect age verification tool is the perfect surveillance tool. This is about how anonymity online is now considered completely unacceptable to allegedly keep minors safe online.

I spend a lot of time explicitly making the connection between interpersonal surveillance/abuse and government surveillance. Sometimes I see people claim that the Internet Freedom set only cares about govt surveillance and I wonder if they either don't know my work or they think I don't count.

Are a ton of tourists annoying? Yeah. But as a New Yorker, I'm not really seeing the huge deal I guess. Y'all stay in the middle of the sidewalk in midtown, and yet we didn't get sympathetic articles about how that's inconvenient for New Yorkers. We just, simply don't go to Times Square lol
