Here for cars, BattleTech, Star Trek memes, SFF books, Lego, hot legal takes, and, let's be honest, some good old-fashioned doomscrolling.
When she looks at you, you can see she's working things out.
She has a neck the size of an adult human, legs that are just as long and an unforgettable coat. And she’s missing.
Got the Miata out for its first good drive of the year and god damn is it just a joy. Also shout out to Lady Liberty of Sultan Basin.
The M5 went on its first trip of the year! What a fantastic machine for crushing miles: freeways, 2-lane highways, back roads. Though those back roads are more fun when not hauling a wife prone to carsickness, a sleeping toddler, and everyone's supplies for a long weekend... #carbluesky
here's an incredible map someone made too:
Mount St Helens Eruption Fatalities, Survivors, and Landmarks - Google My Maps
Locations and routes of those who lived and died around Mount St Helens on May 18, 1980. Most information from interviews recorded in

May 18, 1980 | 8:32 a.m. The ground shudders. A M5.1 quake hits beneath Mount St. Helens. Weakened critically, the north face bulge collapses outward. Within seconds, a pyroclastic density surge bursts through the disintegrating slope. The clock strikes zero.
Went to a preschool open house today, and it's clear that they have had banana distribution issues in the maybe-not-so-distant past.
Kiddo has been learning the names of his toy cars, and this morning he brought this one to me and asked, "is this a Trashy Hotshot?" Yes, yes it is. #weirdcarbs
Seabee in WWII; auto mechanic. Motor pool in WWII; Boeing machinist/tool supervisor. If it was a Boeing product made from the '50s to '80s, there's a good chance he helped figure out how to make it.
Whether or not you’re running for Congress and trying to seem rugged (and you probably should run, because, look who’s out there) what did your grandpas do for a living?
King Crab! I was really excited that I could make the gun-cover claws open and close. Many single-stud connections here make keeping everything aligned a pain. This is the ComStar Clanbuster variant with Streak SRM-2s, but the binoculars and round studs under them can be swapped for 1x1 slope 30s.
The classic #BattleTech WHM-6R Warhammer. This one is largely based on the original Unseen design because I had the 3rd Edition box set as a kid. The Warhammer was on the cover, but I couldn't resist making this with the Black Widow paint scheme instead of the box's tan.

And another BattleTech novel hero 'Mech, Trenton Marik's lightly customized RFL-7N2 Rifleman, Habeas Corpus.
The Dunkin ad is in the uncanny valley — not the one for CGI, the one that’s too bad to be funny but not bad enough to be funny again about how bad it is

Katie Ferraro's Kit Fox, Kagekitsune, from @swankmotron.com's excellent Fox Patrol series. Here loaded in Alt Config B.

An Adder/Puma, this one with the Primary, A, and B configurations, depending on whether you want to deliver relativistic charged particles, missiles, or a combination of lasers and lead. Star Adder Alpha Galaxy livery. I really love the way the transparent bright green cockpit canopy pops.

Posting a few more #Lego #BattleTech 'Mechs tonight, starting with the Viper/Dragonfly. I always thought the high-mobility medium scout was interesting, and this is a weird-looking little dude. Clan Ghost Bear Theta Galaxy colors on this one.

First up, the Shadow Cat. In 1995, I got TRO: 3058 for my birthday, and this was my favorite ‘Mech in the book. I loved the Gauss rifle arm, protruding cockpit, and Timber Wolf-style reverse legs with offset knees. This one is in Diamond Shark Alpha Galaxy colors. #BattleTech #Lego #MechWarrior

In 2021, I started playing around with small (3-5”) #Lego #BattleTech designs in BrickLink Studio. After 4 years and a number of hours I don’t really want to think about, I have a decent digital stable. Now that I’m starting to order pieces and build them, I'll start sharing them here, too.
Ruth Buscombe Divey casually throwing a "ladies and gentlemen, a short view back to the past" into the FP1 broadcast may be the best thing to come out of the #F1 Miami GP.

Looking up articles about the 4th-gen Legacy and I found this Subaru press site: www.subaru.co.jp/en/news/arch... My favorite line: "The sharp, bold design of the headlamps reveals the image of the sharp eyes of a falcon, which ultimately represents individuality." Also bonus Engrish.
