they/them Go play Island Off Outer Darkness.

I forgot to post about it, but today was Pioneer Day, meaning it's the 1-year anniversary of Island Off Outer Darkness' release. Thank you to everyone for, like, everything, the past year. 💚

Formally announcing that IOODancing will launch with DualSense-exclusive experimental adaptive rumble AS WELL AS light bar support for the PS controller line. The game is designed around that control scheme. So get your DualWhatevers ready for IOODancing hopefully end of next month

My favorite part of attending GDQ is all the gristle. I was out on the patio getting some air and the Snowboard Kids runners and the Aussie commentator came out to smoke and I got to hear em talk about the run and the game and laugh along. Amazing

Finally reached season level 100 in Marathon and I feel like now's a good time to stop playing it actively and instead just put it on the backburner and play it w/ friends. Overall: holy cow! Hard to describe what exactly about it is so good but it's so much more than the sum of its parts.

I should say the main reason I want an industry job is because I live in the U.S. and am a cancer survivor with bipolar 2 and so my healthcare costs are absolutely fucking insane. Before insurance my daily meds are like $2,000 a month, and my monthly ketamine infusions are $350 (not covered!).

Fantastic vid from @jasonschreier.bsky.social. I was the category of being a community college student whose mom pays all my bills and whose dad gave me money to commission all my talented friends. Had no idea how to promote IOOD (I was 21) and it got lost in the fog. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKND...

Trying out Marathon and I’m absolutely in love with Destroyer’s design. They gave me some cosmetics but idk why I’d ever want to be anything other than a Jegan!

A screenshot from Marathon (2026)’s lobby, showing Destroyer, one of the characters in the game. They have a toothpaste-mint plastic bodysuit with black and red accents, and a large helmet with a red and black visor. Above them is the username “Zugerujk”.An image of the RGM-89 Jegan from Mobile Suit Gundam. It is a large mecha colored toothpaste-mint with red highlights at the center of its chest and above its crotch. Its chest gives the impression of a hexagonal shape (with the large flat parts being where the arms connect to the torso). Notably, the top half of the Jegan’s legs are very flat, rectangular prisms, with no front skirting armor. The lower half of their legs are large UC-style Gundam lower legs, with large vernier thruster portions as in the Zeta Gundam. It also has giant feet. And its head is grunt-style, with a simple visor and without the iconic Gundam “V-fin”. It does have an ear piece antenna thing though, like the Ez-8 Gundam (pronounced E.Z. 8, idk if a screen reader would pronounce that correctly).

Big news: you can now wishlist Island Off Outer Dancing, the rhythm game sequel to IOOD, on Steam! Very excited to get this to all of you as soon as I possibly can. It’s quite different, obviously, but I hope y'all stick with it. Don't forget — it'll be free! store.steampowered.com/app/4584700/...

I have now purchased Oklahoma's cheapest menthol-infused Steam Deck off Facebook Marketplace. A compatibility patch for IOOD will be coming sometime soon (before IOODancing).

I have received word that Aesop the crow passed away. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him, and I'm forever honored I got to feature him in Island Off Outer Darkness. 🖤

A photo of Aesop the crow standing on a branch, the sun blowing out the sky behind him, him basking in a radiant glow. The branch is diagonal to the camera, but he has his head titled perfectly perpendicular.

Working on IOODancing rn and adapting the Sound Test menu, and I just realized that it's misaligned by 1 pixel in IOOD. Fuck. It's fucking over. I don't know how I can ever come back from this

Extremely blurry screenshot of the top-left corner of the screen in IOOD when it's on the Sound Test menu... with said menu shifted one pixel to the right 💔Extremely blurry screenshot of the top-right corner of the screen in IOOD when it's on the Sound Test menu... with said menu shifted one pixel to the right 💔

Realize I forgot to announce it here: Island Off Outer Dancing, the rhythm game sequel to Island Off Outer Darkness, is releasing this summer, **for free**!!!! Woahh!!!! Stay tuned for more news as production continues 😌

Island Off Outer Darkness is really something special and you owe it to yourself to play it. Austin and Keith and I already knew we all liked the game before we sat down to record but it was such a joy to compare notes and talk about the thing.

This week's Side Story is live! It's a pretty special one, partly because we get to talk about an excellent game that we haven't seen discussed at length anywhere else! It's @zugerujk.bsky.social's Island off Outer darkness, and we fucking love it. Listen here: sidestory.show/25-submerged...
