I've been thinking about the Ticketmaster app since seeing B-52's and Devo at Cascades Amphitheater few weeks ago. Are people going to have to buy a new phone every few years if they want to attend a LiveNation show? Are they going to start providing charging stations outside of the venue?

Very excited to see the no-phones Phoebe Bridgers show tonight, where I will have to bring my phone to be put in a pouch because Ticketmaster won't let me print out my tickets

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

Yet again, the Game UI Database is being scraped to the point that it's getting knocked offline. Even Cloudflare's "I'm under attack" mode isn't working. I just wanted to create a resource for real designers. I'm getting so fucking sick of this.

I'm listening to the Devo 'Nitrous Nightmare' album, and the two things that stick out to me are... * Sun Ra/Devo were playing a 2,000 cap venue in 1975 (I had no idea Sun Ra had that kind of draw) * Devo played an 82 minute long opening set

I think I was the only person taking advantage of Cascade Amphitheater's "audience members can bring in a one-gallon plastic bag full of food" policy at Thursday's The B-52's & Devo concert. Contents: 2 turkey and cheddar sandwiches on ciabatta Dark chocolate and sea salt bar Potato Chips

Shocking even to us: new research finds that nearly half of Live Nation's amphitheaters are actually municipally owned; LNE is operating, often with sweetheart deals. That means state and local government is subsidizing the illegal monopoly.

Evict Live Nation

In April, a jury found Live Nation liable for monopolizing the concert industry. The basic story you’ve probably heard is that Live Nation built its monopoly by buying competitors and linking its venu...

Can somebody explain why more rightsholders aren't sending DMCA takedowns to the Trump administration? For example, the Trump TV trailer includes the song "Video Killed the Radio Star" and clips from Parks and Rec, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Friends, Breaking Bad, etc...

With international shipping costs rising, more record-pressing plants opening, and pressing times finally becoming manageable, I wonder whether we'll see more artists licensing physical rights to different labels in different territories.
