Why is Illinois investing 27 billion to in part expand lanes? The 2billion$ spent expanding LAs highway 405 didnt fix traffic. It made more people drive. Not questioning IDOTs decision making is lowering ILs QOL, enriching bad global actors, and polluting our communities @govpritzker.illinois.gov

Today I learned that not only is the alt-right's "Giga Chad" masculinity icon a real person... He's a communist who grew up in East Germany, and defends it as a happy, safe place to have lived. This is hilarious for them.

The big jawed "Giga Chad"

In 2012 IDOT did a study on the quality of the LFT. Their own assessment gave it an F- for being overly popular. Why did they stop trying to innovate human scale design? That should have be the start of a conversation. All they do is build too big roads. Why? @govpritzker.illinois.gov

Highway expansion has to be one of the most insidious forms of class warfare right? It touches everyone both internally and externally. And it saps money from school budgets, homeless services, you name it. It spans the local, state, national, and global scale. All while adding almost nothing to QOL

Immigrants should have access to better jobs than delivery and cabs. What has the mayor done to reduce our reliance on Waste management? We could create 14,000 jobs if we invested more in food compost. Less car dependence more progressivism please @mayorofchicago.bsky.social

For the last year and a half, DoorDash has been silent as delivery drivers in DC have been hunted in the streets and even killed by ICE and other federal police. Now, the company has come out in support of #HR9720 — the blatant attack on DC Home Rule — just so it can earn more money.

I actually really love Illinois, but I hate that I can't go everywhere without it being a massive slog and pain in the ass. The idea that they'd just continue to make it worse by increasing VMT is bananas. Spend more on transit and bikes @illinoisdot.bsky.social please

"Temporarily closing roads to vehicles can slash air and noise pollution levels by about 60%...While it's impractical to close all roads to cars, the key is to have some major arteries that are available to pedestrians and cyclists.” www.nationalobserver.com/2026/07/10/n...

How car-free streets make healthier communities

A new Carleton University study has found that temporarily closing roads to vehicles can reduce air and noise pollution by about 60 per cent for pedestrians and cyclists.

A line needs to be drawn. If you're not for less Vehicle Miles Traveled, less funding for highway expansion, a lot more money for active transpo, housing, and public transit then you're for exploitive economies of scale. Our car based built environment is the cause for oppression around the world.

Maine is in absolute outrage! Protesters took over Senator Susan Collins’ office chanting "VOTE HER OUT" after an ICE thug brutally executed a 26-year-old Colombian man. We demand immediate accountability for this state-sponsored murder! Enough is enough!

All of which is to say that the claims about the FBI investigating these ICE shootings is misleading at best. It creates the misimpression that someone at the federal level is working to get to the bottom of what happened and charge it criminally, if warranted. That's simply not true.

🚨 Urge your alder to hit the brakes on The 78 TIF! 🚨 Instead of investing in public transit like in the original 2019 plans, the City is now trying to ram through $216 million in public subsidies for a parking garage, with little transparency on the impact nor what public benefit this will provide.

One cool bike observation I made this weekend was 2 people from out west using the Dickens greenway to visit the Lincoln Park Farmers market by bike! So many people using the Cortland bridge as a bike connection. Even saw a rich normie family using it too. Has to rank pretty high as a popular route.
