I promise I'm not a mean boss, or killing my team one by one, but we have another vacancy. It's for a part time, term time only Study Skills Officer. Happy to chat about the role ce0115li.webitrent.com/ce0115li_web...
I've spent all summer trying to get hold of an out of print book for an English teacher, I just emailed him to say I was struggling to find it, could he suggest an alternative title? He asked me if I'd looked on Amazon or Ebay.
Hello lovelies, I'm looking for two recommendations for Leeds, Can you suggest: 1. Somewhere for brunch on Sunday. Avocado things, eggs benedict, that kind of vibe; 2. Old-school greasy spoon, all-day breakfast, builder's tea, open on a Monday?
Teacher giving a tour of the library "this is Abby, she's in charge of the library". Me: "barely"
A call out to the network - I really like to talk to someone who has worked in prison libraries & has experience of providing LGBTQ+ books in that sector. Is this you? Or do you know someone who I could talk to?
Can't wait to go to work and cover the day long shift on the desk in our pc room that isn't an IT helpdesk and help all 6000 of our students sort out multi factor authentication. This is why I became a librarian!
Everyone with students returning tomorrow - eyes on the half term break, we can do this.
My constant inner monologue is FUCK OFF! FUCK OFF! FUCK OFF! FUCK OFF!

"It would be great to think that everyone went to the library…but not everybody is that way inclined and what we have tried to do is create a culture of books within the home." Alison Lilburn, project manager for Rotherham's 'Imagination' scheme, on how it built upon the existing (excellent) service

RIP TO ONE OF THE GREATEST TO EVER DO IT
NOT DOLLY PARTON
I don’t know what the library equivalent of dimming our lights is but whatever it is, we should be doing it for Dolly because what that woman did for literacy deserves so much more recognition than it got
Also: I am so fed up of using computers. If I could hand produce these things it would be more enjoyable and take me half the flippin time.
The I Don't Want To is strong today. Every ADHDers worst day - finishing the tail end of three different projects.

Lazy librarian request - if you work at an FE/HE institution that has a study skills team, is there a limit on how many appointments a student is offered?
CW: Weight The miracle of perimenopause - weighed on my first day of the trial - 70kg. Appetite surpressed as a side effect, weeks without sweet treats, purposefully moved more so I can monitor how my breathing is. Weighed today - 71kg.
Thank you for the reminder, just booked mine. FLU JAB TIME!
PSA for those still eligible for NHS Covid jabs: the system is now open to book appointments from 1 October and you can book the flu jab for same appointment again
Just as a matter of interest, *any* use of AI in scholarly writing is tantamount to plagiarism. You don’t know whose work the AI has trained on, so you can’t give them proper acknowledgment or make an appropriate citation.
