“Don’t be a dick.” One of the many takeaways from a stroke survivor session at #UKSF25, about how we can create SAFE spaces for patients. Soon followed by the poignant reminder that, “Anyone in this room could be the next survivor.” Don’t take it for granted that you’re not.
This was brilliant. So pleased to see the voices of people with lived expertise of stroke platformed and given the floor in front of a room filled with Stroke care professionals and researchers. More please! #UKSF25 #Stroke #DontBeA🍆
Bonus plenary handed over entirely to people with lived expertise. Caleb, Stacie, Saran and our very own Linda Hanlon (CHSS National Advisory Panel) talking about engagement, passion, goals and safe spaces. #UKSF25 #NLHL @chsscotland.bsky.social
Thank you. We enjoyed a really supportive and reflective session together - bringing lots of voices of contributors with aphasia in this AI workshop. #UKSF25 delegates are such considerate collaborators! Find the resources from our session here: linktr.ee/AphasiaAI #aphasia
Racial disparities in stroke care.👇 Black patients face higher mortality rates than White patients. Black and Asian patients often need more psychological support and are more likely to experience recurrent stroke. At #UKSF25 we discussed what more can be done to address these vital issues.
A pleasure to be representing @basaphasia.bsky.social at the UK Stroke Forum this year in Aberdeen. And to be a small part of @abracabadger.com and Caitlin’s wonderful talk about AI and #aphasia rehab. #UKSF25
That's me away to share some AI food for thought at today's #UKSF25. I look forward to being a part of today's discussion. Wish me luck! #AI #Aphasia #BSkySpeechies
