1/ Can AI help researchers check whether published social science results actually reproduce? In our new PNAS paper, we tested this directly in the AI Replication Games: 288 researchers, 103 teams, and real replication packages from quantitative social science.
Many scholars don’t actually disagree with each other so much as maintain incompatible citation networks
I think this genuinely can be a good thing. An automated agent that a) tries to run the code to see if it does what it is supposed to do and b) checks it for conceptual or implementation errors (code can run but be very wrong nevertheless).
Many journals already require authors to upload data and code. A near-future where an LLM systematically checks the analysis and the code of every published study is realistic. Believe it or not, I think this is the future of scientific publishing.

This is great! I've used Stan and JAX separately for different projects in the past, both are great, so hopefully this will be a huge step forward towards making Bayesian models faster. And then perhaps brms can now be used with Stan -> Jax as well?
