It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

The entire facade of "greatness" that is our wretched establishment was always meant to crumble. There never was accountability for the lies, death & corruption upon which it was built. It was cursed from the beginning. Think about it: it only took a weak man in office to expose its ugliness.

I've lost my inspiration to make art. I want to feel sad about it, but I only feel empty. I'll sit down with my materials and even have a plan thought out, and then I just sit there, staring at the blank page or lino, or scratch board. Then I take a deep breath and put it all away again.
It doesn't seem to matter how often we say it and it's crazy to me that it takes another baby being killed for people to "get it." We aren't criminals. That's just something the government told you so you would have someone to hate while they rob you blind.
