Antinuclear voices are raising alarm each time there is anything happening anywhere near an NPP. But facts are simple: Ukrainian NPPs are the ONLY power plants NOT attcked by Russia. If it wasn't for nuclear power, Ukraine would alread have had blackouts and be without power in winter.

Building #NuclearPower plants, including small modular reactors, is crazy. Building them in coastal zones that are prone to sea-level rise, flooding and wildfires is stupid. But building them – potential targets for bunker busters – ahead of a potential war with Russia is whacko! 🤪 #nuclear

Reprocessing of fuel is the best example of zero waste circular economy. I think we should all strive to close the nuclear cycle and burn even the nasty waste in fast reactors, and breed new fuel in breeder reactors instead of extracting all the fuel from the environment.

1/n You've probably heard already about (some) French reactors coasting down due to not wanting to overheat rivers. Antinuclear voices love to amplify that event every year, despite the fact that it is a temporary measure and only affects 5% of French capacity, with exports still going strong.

A majority of Aussies support nuclear energy! Polling commissioned by WePlanet Australia last month shows that a majority of Australians support developing nuclear energy in Australia. Nuclear energy provides 24/7 clean, reliable, and affordable energy independent of the weather or season.

Being part of those events is very personal to me. Belgium was poised on self destruction of its low carbon electricity generation. Today this course is reversed and although the damage was done, worse case scenario might be averted. And people who caused it are today proud to have stopped it! ;)

Governments, industry & civil society are finally acknowledging the key role that nuclear can play alongside renewables in our energy transition. Sadly, one major stakeholder that is refusing to change: Greenpeace. Dear @greenpeace.org, it's time to drop your opposition to nuclear energy.

This has kind of aged well, but also has different context today.

Swedish Energy Minister is furious with Germany. Lack of nuclear is increasing energy prices in other countries today. Problem is, this system is working as intended. This is how @eucomission.bsky.social intended it to work for years. Its not a bug, its a feature. Bad policy, expected outcomes.
