"Our data is in ca-central-1, so we're fine." The bytes really are in Canada. But the company holding them is Amazon Web Services Canada, Inc, wholly owned by a US one. Where data sits and who can be compelled to produce it are two different questions.

For a long time I organized my life, and various projects, in Roam. People moved on to Obsidian and various other things, but Roam just fit me very well. Claude Code and folders of markdown files have replaced it for me ... but I'm kind of sad to see it go.

The problem with the try fable for several days thing is ... Fable is really good.

I told myself not to build my own audio editor, no matter what problems I was encountering with Descript and Adobe Audition. But somehow here I am.
