It was all supposed to snap back to normal after elections in 2019, then 2024. But the politics they created are so insane - so utterly divorced from reality, requiring so much effort just to keep the bullshit straight in their heads - that it has created a new, awesomely horrible and scary normal.

It’s wild how Kemi is just this funhouse mirror of ten years of horrible UK politics and media, showing the rest of them their reflections with deeply unsettling and embarrassing distortion. What she’s doing is IMO little different to what they’ve done, it’s just more ham-fisted, crass and idiotic.

People having nothing but good things to say about you when you die, or nothing but bad things, is heaven and hell in reality. We'll all end up somewhere between the two but how far in either direction is totally our own choice.

Absolutely unbelievable how solar power has taken off worldwide during the Hormuz oil crisis. You don't have to hand it to him, but Trump may have done more to finally kick off a global civilization of effete librul solar users than anyone else in the West

Chart showing solar panel exports from China (the main solar panel maker by a long shot) growing steadily & mightily from 2018 through 2026, then spiking by almost 2x in March 2026.

This entire incident was a perfect example of policing directed by landowners and their priorities, not policing in the public interest or justice. They can stage full-scale operations for this, but ask them about illegal hunting, and it’s a different story.

Our Encounter with Northamptonshire Police - the private security for landowners and local hunts

How far will the police go to protect hunters and landowners?

I'm seeing a lot of people confidently predicting a Farage win. Time will tell but I'm not so sure. The UK's conditioned to vote against rather for. Are the people of Clacton against foreign people more than Farage? And there's a majority of non-voters out there who might be feeling mischievous.

Why does everyone behave like a great victory has been won when a far-right party is the second most popular one in an election? Second. Right wing first then far-right. I don't want the country I live in to have that level of hatred nurtured by its media. They shouldn't be in the results at all.

I think what's happened here is the press immediately recognised the obvious truth of what Hannah Spencer said but their idea of fairness/compromise is to still go in two footed on her, a vile 'leftie', and then circle back and pick up her points a few months on without acknowledging they were hers

That's weird, because a whole discourse happened where we were all told drinking was super normal and anyone asking questions was a gross communist who didn't understand? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

The public are IMO entitled to ask why, if it was quite straightforward to wreck Nigel Farage with maybe six weeks of half-committed noticing things, why that was not done at any point in the last two decades instead.

Steven Methven: "Whether clapping is now supporting a terrorist group is a really good question" That this question even has to be asked - whether just clapping makes you a terrorist, is a sign of how far our govt has gone in its efforts to protect a genocidal apartheid regime

Do the police generally warn people not to commit terrorism because they’ll be arrested if they do? And if they don’t, would we say this is different because it’s deeply idiotic, as well as insulting and insanely authoritarian

The activist group Defend Our Juries has planned a mass show of support for the proscribed group Palestine Action outside Westminster Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
Expressing support for Palestine Action is an offence under the Terrorism Act. Those who do so will be arrested.

As the climate crisis worsens, who should we trust to manage & deliver our water - the private water companies that have been ripping us off for decades, extracting huge profits while pumping sewage into our rivers & ignoring leaking pipes, or us?
