Being dead is not some kind of state line where, if you can just cross the border, all your trespasses evaporate. The flowers still wither where you poured salt. This is it exactly. A stick to beat Natural England, a longstanding target for the right, because it uses science/law to limit wealthy backers doing what they want to our wildlife and habitats. It doesn't matter if it's a lie, as long it has traction then it serves the purpose of attacking experts.

The tragedy of the Dartmoor Pony Cull Conspiracy is that misinformation can lead to scientific advice being ignored, & environmental watchdogs like Natural England having their powers curtailed - exactly what the Tories & rightwing press have always wanted. I spoke to @mrjamesob.bsky.social:

Not a single MP will be advising their children or grandchildren not to go to University. In fact they will be doing everything to get them into Oxbridge. The hypocrisy of this debate is disgusting.
