I am four minutes into the new Ted Lasso and I am *furious*. I know I shouldn't expect realism but the man was a Premier League manager! What the fuck happened to all his money????

First day back at work and taking it an hour at a time 🩵
Not a band, but Ben Folds did Rockin' The Suburbs, Songs for Silverman and Way To Normal
What's the best three album run from a band? (the correct answer is Moving Pictures, Signals, and Grace Under Pressure by Rush, but I'm excited to learn second place)
Watching "Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story" on Disney+. Several jokes are either redubbed with the safe aeroplane version or removed altogether. I need to get back to owning physical media
It hasn't rained where we live in at least five weeks. It's been forecast a couple of times and nothing. All the grass is yellow. It's next forecast for a week tomorrow. How is everybody not freaking out about this
I really enjoyed Spiderman: Brand New Day. Holland, Bernthal, Sink and Zendaya are all amazing. The various MCU cameos all served a real purpose to the plot and themes, and made the universe feel real in a way it hasn't for a while. It has well-earned pathos and emotions
Not only did we successfully take Cosmo to the cinema, my wife took one of the greatest photos of me that's ever been taken. The fucking aura in this photo oh my god
Taking Cosmo to a dog friendly screening of the new Spiderman today

Things at work have utterly gone to hell in a handbasket and I've been signed off until the end of next week. I'm going to try and live my life away from The Phone during that time, so peace out moots. I will be absolutely fine, you don't need to worry about me, I will be back really soon 🩵
It has got to be miserable and exhausting living your life like this. What does she gain from talking about her like this? Who is she trying to impress?
So Andy Burnham's wife is getting endless nasty comments for having a body. I bet the "women's rights movement" that is heavily made up of trans-exclusive columnists who claim to be defending women are right on that. Yeah?
You've been very naughty. I've checked my list. Check it twice! I PERFORM 50 MEGACHECKS PER SECOND
What's a Futurama line that lives forever in your head? Mine is, "Oh, a lesson in not changing history from Mr. I'm My Own Grandpa."
Nick Ferrari, a man who makes millions working for a few hours a day in an air conditioned studio he has a paid cheauffer take him to and from, acting like he's any kind of authority on what life is like for people without his ludicrous privilege
"You're telling me people in this country can't afford a 50p toothbrush?" "Yes." @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social is in disbelief at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation's latest study into the cost of living.
It's all mental health matters this, it's okay not to be okay that, all the live long day. But when someone with lifelong, professionally diagnosed, medicated mental health issues starts to struggle at work? Ha ha ha fuck you
My job was extremely not kind to my men's mental health today
I love stuff like this because it totally excuses you from even trying to be a better parent, prioritising a wholly imaginary scenario where you are being arrested for saving your children from a threat that does not exist
Please send Clementine some love today. She's been struggling with losing fur, stress and pain for a few weeks and she's having to have a few teeth out this morning 🍊 (And fuck Clementine's previous owners. Wherever and whoever they are, I hope they're miserable)
Used to be one of the biggest MCU stans going, the Doomsday trailer has just left me like 😶 What in the world is the plot of this movie? Where has this latest existential threat come from? It centres around Thor, a character we last saw in a shit movie four years ago
Train delayed by 40 minutes, subject to a last second platform change, rammed beyond capacity and broken air conditioners. We gave Burnham a chance, but for the good of this country, he must do the honourable thing and step down
I had a locked-door meeting with the Head of Finance because, on a work trip to Athens, I got lonely of an evening, went to the bar of my hotel and had one (1) beer which I paid for with change from my traveller's cheques
what are some absurd work situations you can share? once i got called into a meeting i had nothing to do with because the consultant brought an engineer and no one in the room could understand him, so they asked me to translate. he was scouse. i translated from english to english.
God damn, District 9 was mind-blowing when it came out. It felt like we were witnessing a generational talent come to the fore. What the fuck happened
I know Blomkamp has had some really bad luck and experiences with the film industry as a whole but even as his last certified defender, this is fucking bullshit and I'm out. Oats Studio was wonderful and a real sign of the magic he could do with fairly rudimentary CGI work, fuck this and fuck AI
“I thought it was crap” And with those words, Wayne Rooney’s entire post-football career is excused.
Don't things traditionally happen during football matches?
He is utterly pathetic and endlessly cringe. He won the cultural lottery, it quickly turned out he had nothing of worth to say, and now all he can do is pretend he hates the very system that made him a millionaire and tried to force the world to believe he was a generational voice for years
“What has the BBC ever done for me?” Well, Romesh, just yesterday you gave Ricky Gervais free rein to spout his usual bollocks about offensive comedy and cancel culture on the BBC and I’m sure we’re all grateful for that
Local cafe using AI art to promote their wares and not even fucking bothering to remove the watermark
Clementine glaring at me in the vet as if it's her who just got hit with an unexpected £750 bill
This has ruined my entire day, ngl. I mean, where do you even start
