Netflix is thinking of doing "always on" channels (i.e. TV) which means they'll then do some form of "television playing videos of music" which means they'll then speedrun "recording industry are bastards" followed by "put reality shows on the channel playing videos of music" followed by "cancel it"

The easy search turfs out pretty quick, even though VAPOR PALACE is such a unique paring of words. I found 6 issues of Gay Community News have this ad, which implies, at least, it was probably selling a handful of copies. If this gets found, it's the new "oldest LGBTQ" videogame.
I could only find one citation so far - this ad in Gay Community News, 1983.
OK, let's start the search. Adrienne Shaw is on the lookout for two titles of early LGBTQ software that predate Caper in the Castro. One is called VAPOR PALACE. The other features Tom of Finland art but has no discovered name yet. The search is on - if you know more details or... have a copy? ping.

Just came across this new to us likely queer game from 1983. Anyone have any information about it? This advertisement was in The Advocate classifieds section.

Today's discussion is about what "culture" even means and what it means to study it So we're reading @adrishaw.bsky.social's "Video games as cultural studies other" Early on she asks: "Why is it so hard for us to think about video games as part of popular media culture more broadly?"
A note that this was facilitated in many ways by the work of @adrishaw.bsky.social and the LGBTQ Game Archive, which you should also check out lgbtqgamearchive.com/about/about-...
