I have no problem with devoting SOME funding and effort to understanding the risk of AI killing us all. But I think it's insane that in 2026, as we're watching AI cause right-now harms to right-now people, that the ethical tech space has been almost entirely taken over by these galaxy-brain fears.

You know who has mental toll from AI? The people in the global south paid pennies to label photos, the people paid a pittance to label graphic images, the people scrambling for contract gigs to train AI to do their jobs because it’s already killed most work in their field.
