Just to be clear on this article, the position I took isn't "developers need to be more brave" but "funding needs to be more brave". Developers make all the cool stuff, just because they want to - the funding side hits it with market research and fear and growth targets and shareholders.

Does Godot have a decent way of rotating to face something but, slowly, at a fixed rate, that won't overshoot? I don't mean a coroutine or a yield, I just mean a single function that takes target and speed and gets you there without overshoot Like this works great but, I feel very dirty doing it 😭

Godot source, the key bit at the end where I do a lookat at (cur-pos + (forward z * 20 + toward-target).normalized

Which works out to an ease, especially if done in a fixed step update
