I just published the Steam page for my upcoming DRPG: Häxeri! The game is inspired by Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei and Wizardry. I've been working on this for nearly two years (being a parent of two is rough...), so I'm really happy to finally reach this point. #gamedev #indiedev #drpg

this port uses a brilliant trick to display the map: the graphics are made up of 12x12 tiles, despite the master system VDP only supporting 8x8, so the game has to draw the whole visible area into tile RAM, chop it up into 8x8 sections, and then glue it back together on the screen

Game workers protested outside the Build A Rocket Boy offices on Saturday, as the studio hosted a playtesting event for fans. BARB has laid off 250-300 employees over the last 13 months & has been accused of installing surveillance software on workers' PCs to root out "saboteurs" within the company

only way the "one billion" figure makes sense is if they merge the xbox and windows platforms and double-count every consumer, enterprise and government PC user as an xbox user because of shared system components or whatever

Big cuts, but Xbox has managed to avoid closing any studios today. Double Fine and Compulsion go indie. Ninja Theory and Undead Labs will have new owners. Arkane Lyon process starts today. CEO Asha Sharma wants Xbox to reach 1bn players a day (it currently hits 1bn a year).

This is now the FIFTH major round of layoffs at Xbox since the company spent almost $70B on Activision Blizzard in 2023. Another 3,200 livelihoods on the chopping block. Another deafening sucker punch for everybody at the company. Another stream of tone deaf excuses. Where is the accountability?
