They still do, at least Nintendo of America does. If you watch a UK Nintendo Direct you'll see that they just say "game" instead of "the [game] game" like in the US. Which means that they make the narrator record two versions of the same line every time he mentions the name of a Nintendo game.

one thing I miss from the pre-genAI days is that there was no questioning that human nonsense was simply human nonsense. a dog piloting a plane? some silly human toiled over that in photoshop. now, when something is nonsensical, we question if it’s ai and don’t get to enjoy it the same way.

I don't think minors should be posting in objectum spaces on Tumblr. And yet I am pretty sure I've seen 2-3 anti-aligned minors posting to objectum and pooltoy spaces on Tumblr. Is "weirdfur" a Tiktok-furry thing, that tag seems to be a pattern with them too.

tl;dr LJ in the Aughts had become a place where Russians were able to organize outside of state control (servers in CA!) until inevitably a Russian banker with "alleged" Kremlin ties bought it. now the servers are... in Russia. And people have been sentenced to prison for blog opinions.
