I rewatched it again recently because I found a Behind The Scenes documentary I had never seen, and I have to say The Right Stuff is incomprehensibly good in a way I can’t imagine being reproduced today. It blends like 3 separate genres, it’s “too long”, it’s funnier than anyone remembers.

It’s amazing to me that Republican senators are against the slush fund because they don’t wanna defend it on the campaign trail, but they want to fund ICE and CBP and are cool with defending *that* on the campaign trail.

The horrific scenes in San Diego unfortunately recall the Christchurch mosque massacre. Hate - whether Islamophobia, antisemitism, racism or bigotry of any sort - left without sanction, or worse actively platformed, inevitably beget violence. We must all choose a better way.

I've been on the world's worst website, LinkedIn, lately... so many people impacted by layoffs. The vibe is very grim. Lots of anger. People saying things like, "can't believe we labor so the CEO can get a second yacht". Haven't seen that sort of stuff on that website. The Revolution is overdue.
