"It’s almost three months that [my husband] has been detained in solitary. And within that time, not only is his mental state just broken, but I had to give him the news that I had lost my pregnancy while him in solitary. That’s not something that I even knew how to handle. I am still grieving."

"The bridge is shaky, and the railing is small ... Everyone starts talking about what would happen if we fell into the lake. We are shackled from head to toe and there is a locked gate barring us from the front of the bus where the emergency hatch is located. We'd drown[.]"

Demetrius Buckley’s long-awaited transfer to a lower-security prison means more time outside of his cell and a chance to see his daughter. But the transport process was like everything else in prison: slow, confusing and casually cruel.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.

My experience is of every American COVID-19 mitigation effort being obviously insufficient, and ended far too soon. To see people now argue that they somehow were too much, going too far? Not anti-vax or MAGA people, but folks just out here on Bluesky? It staggers me.

"[T]he pogroms have been constant ... [T]he West Bank, as well as Gaza and East Jerusalem, are illegally occupied. There is no possibility for Israel, settlers or soldiers, to invoke self-defense there, because the International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to dismantle the occupation."

Everyone saying Israel is controlling the United States needs to look up what the US did to Hawaii and the Philippines, because our genocides there followed the same playbook. Hell, Texas was an "independent country" too that we absorbed because we wanted the land,
