A short but fascinating illustration of why we should never hand essential infrastructure to private industry. What this vid doesn’t say is that in the south, a number of reservoirs have actually been sold off since privatisation. Bring Water back under public ownership!

This is a wonderful example of politicians defending the indefensible, and how it always makes them look stupid, sooner or later. See also: Labour and the early prisoner release scheme. Ex neo-Nazi activist withdraws as Tory election candidate www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Ex neo-Nazi activist withdraws as Tory election candidate

It follows a backlash against the party's decision to pick Joshua Bonehill-Paine as a council candidate in Somerset.

Every time this government makes headway, they go and do something utterly, avoidably bonkers. The situation with the prisoner early release scheme is one such example. There are dozens of solutions to this problem - instead of exploring those, they’re pissing off a huge swath of the public 🙄

Whoops - another Farage fantasy bites the dust He could have asked his lawyers & the French first ... "France Rejects Reform UK's Royal Navy Migrant Plan Paris says the proposal would [be] - A violation of French sovereignty - A breach of maritime law - A breach of international law" via Watan News

I’m sure there are many people who could be released early from prison. I get it. I’m entirely baffled by the early release of the two thugs who killed a police officer. It’s obviously not in the public interest and it’s clearly political self-harm. How hard is this stuff? Not this hard.

French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. You’re only diminishing yourself with comments like this.

Left: Yvette Cooper saying something about small boats Right: Yvette Cooper's legacy is a policy which saw the daughter of a Holocaust survivor arrested a couple of days ago, "This is not what my parents died for.. I'm glad they didn't live to see this"

These people were victims of online disinformation; told Spain had opened its borders, and they could go work there. Once they were told it wasn't true, they returned. A gift to the far right & we must find out who was behind what is a form of hybrid warfare, meant to destabilise Spain and the EU.

If the six million fighting age male migrants from Africa - the ones who breached Spain’s defences using tanks and other military equipment - are in fact heading to Calais….. They’re going the wrong way.

Nigel Farage struck a secret deal to return as Reform leader months before the election, and showed it to the treasurer in May 2024.So the man who claimed he “wasn’t involved in politics” and therefore didn’t need to declare gifts was already cutting leadership deals behind the scenes.😆

UEFA has given FIFA President Gianni Infantino an ultimatum: resign or face a no-confidence vote, The Telegraph reports . It says all 55 members would back it. Only 43 votes are needed.
