Thanks @luohaoxu.bsky.social for presenting at #WGDip’s science forum. Using snow carp as a model, he argued that chromosome fusions often initiate rediploidisation after autopolyploidy. Featuring a haplotype-resolved assembly with 443 chromosomes (20n!) & insights into polyploid sex determination.
