This happens in literature as well. They give us a token seat at the table (or in this case, a completely separate second-tier table) and expect us to pay up and be grateful for it. They insult us to our faces and take our money and our clout and our labor at the same time. Fcuk the Grammys. Go BTS

BTS Will Not Be Submitting to 2027 Grammy Awards

The news comes just over a month after the introduction of the Asian pop music performance category.

They went into the military on their own terms. They promoted their album without the media. They boycotted the award. BTS are taking a stand and are done with being used. They know who they are. They know their strength and they’re fighting. I’m proud beyond words.

This also means whomever is nominated in the new "Asian Pop" category didn't necessarily submit TO that category, they could have been recategorized to it and that's why BTS' protest is so powerful and necessary.

I have been seeing a question pop up RE: Grammy submissions: Can BTS (or any artist) just submit for the main categories? No. Because when the music is submitted, the Recording Academy reserves the right to change the category to what they feel is best for that nomination ⬇️

I am so proud of BTS for the decision and the stand they took today. It was a bold and powerful statement to an Academy that has been known for their favouritism, othering of musical artists based on skin colour and language, and generally being unfair. ARMY Forever, Bangtan Forever. 💜

From the UK, to Peru, Tanzania or Vietnam, SwimTayka has been striving to bring trusted instructors & swimming equipment to children all over the world 🌏 and teach them how to be “ready for the whole sea”! Donate: tinyurl.com/SwimWithBTS

So far their 25 projects have helped provide lessons and education to over 11,000 children. SwimTayka's approach aims to help children not only learn new skills but also gain confidence! Your donation will help support SWIM TAYKA's activities ranging from providing swimming equipment to communities who cannot afford them, to sending volunteer swimming instructors to wherever in the world they are most needed, with a goal to provide lessons to all children for free!
