White professor ‘ MattGPT ‘ whose most recent book contained fabricated quotations, non-existent source references, & left ChatGPT URLs accidentally embedded in footnotes is sad about Jason Arday’s death but still wants Arday & all black academia held to higher standards than his own writing .

Beyond whistleblowing, he states that after a 'revolution' removes professors like Arday, it will open opportunities for him to become 'head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard'.

From a Vygotskyan perspective, 'done well' would mean triggering the zone of proximal development. But LLMs now do what the same perspective would identify as frustrating development by taking away the need and opportunity to develop complex language. This is nothing but marketing nonsense.

Advice I now give to my students: don't write using AI at all, at any stage (outlines, drafts, edits, anything). It's nearly unavoidable in searches. But in writing: draw a line. Be explicit: 'this is AI-free writing.' In some fields it will be good, soon, to have a reputation of this kind.

De natuurbranden in het zuiden van ons land hebben een verwoesting van natuur achtergelaten. Ook in Venray, waar ik vandaag langsging, is de impact enorm en zal het herstel nog jaren duren.
