Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

Spain never had to get out of 2nd gear, better in every position all over the park. Absolute walkover. Very disappointing after all we'd seen from France in the tournament so far but full credit to Spain for stopping them playing. Big night and great goal for Pedro Porro too.

ITV using the guitar from the start of Rudderless before the break. Had the album on for a spin during the week for the first time in ages, great tune.

Much better 2nd half from Brazil, Don Carlo got the subs and tactical tweaks right after a stinking 1st half. Just a pity that Vini Jr shot didn't go in, would have been a proper World Cup goal to remember, great save to stop him.

Nerves shot to pieces. Let's never do this again. De Zerbi needs a statue. Agent Vinai, Lange and the Lewis Nepo Babies need chased down the High Road. Come on you fucking Spurs.

Difference between that performance and any of the Frank/Tudor eras is like night and day. Brilliant from every player, fought for everything and got their reward. Bring on Dirty Leeds.

This is one of my main political hobbyhorses tbh. "Working class" *never* meant unsophisticated, uneducated, uncultured. Britain's mid-20th century working class communities produced our late-20th century, globally influential pop culture. Socialism is responsible for that.

I read a history of early 20th century socialism and it's crazy how much of it is just clubs doing art or reading books and trying to get miners and factory workers to do art and read books.

PSG and Bayern aren't just on a different level, they're playing a different sport to anything I've seen in the Premier League for years. Both are light years ahead of every other club in Europe, if not the world.

Every nation should treat billionaires like a natural resource and mine them of their riches until exhausted, just like a nice thick seam of coal or a reservoir of oil, then make the spoils available to the nation's citizens. If they crop up again, mine them again.

Stinking 2nd half. No idea what he was thinking bringing on the half fit Udogie and Bergvall at halftime. Not a single player with any fight in them. Brutal, absolutely brutal.
