this is from a Guardian review of Channel 4's Wrestling With Trump documentary. Positing, in 2026, that Kayfabe is an explanation for why fans don't like to admit wrestling isn't real should have you taken off any beat that covers anything remotely close to wrestling.

a screenshot from the Guardian website, it reads:

"Kayfabe refers to the willing suspension of disbelief around wrestling. It's why fans don't like to acknowledge that their favourite physical spectacle is pure theatre, staged and scripted. It's far more entertaining and dramatic if you believe it's true; though deep down, in some Bluebeard's chamber, locked door of the psyche, you know it's not."

I'm aware this is very much Not The Point, but fwiw the reason non-human animals don't have to wipe isn't because of their diets: it's because they don't have giant, muscular arses covering up the relevant anatomy, which we do in order to allow us to walk upright. The trade off is hands, for wiping.

Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.

To O’Mara, the diet is not just a temporary means of losing weight but a way to eat for good. He has been doing it for 10 years, and credits it with turning his life around. At one point in our conversation he pulled up the Bristol Stool Chart, which ranges from Type 1 (“separate, hard pellets”) to Type 7 (“watery, no solid pieces”). O’Mara is consistently delivering Type 4 (“smooth, soft, like a snake”), with pointed ends, indicative of healthy rectal function, he told me. “When you start eating healthy, you don’t need toilet paper,” he claimed. “Animals in the wild have no residual stool on their anus.” He described a proper bowel movement to me this way: odorless, wipe-free, over in three to seven seconds and “nearly orgasmic.”

“I could have a bowel movement behind a sheet at a dinner party in the corner of the room,” he said, “and nobody would know.”

There a million things wrong with the EHRC guidance, as you all know, but for me the weirdest thing about it all is that its authors don't even seem to be aware of the possibility that someone asked to leave a "single sex" facility might refuse.

If you read fiction and you don't like AI you're a hypocrite. If you eat monster munch and don't like asbestos you're a blacksmith. If you play videogames and don't like stubbing your toe you're a submarine captain. We can all just SAY things. It's not hard.

Here’s the latest stop motion animation from my Tiny Angry Witch team. (I’m the writer, I can’t take credit for the animating!) It’s one of our longest, and it nearly drove us all mad, but we’re really proud of getting it made! 1 x Tiny Angry Witch 1 x broom No AI

1802) Transwrongsbot. Listen, validation and love is all very well, but at some point things get bad enough that action is required as a matter of simple survival. It's time to protect trans rights by doing some trans wrongs.

A spherical robot with banded arms and legs. It has one fist cocked and its lunging forward, yelling angrily. It's drawn in full colour, and its body is striped in the blue-pink-white-pink-blue of the trans pride flag.

My one spicy Odyssey take is that, like all of Nolan's films, it is *profoundly* middlebrow. So those of us who know a fair bit about the source material are annoyed by these very glib moments, but much of the audience isn't even going to spot them or will know just enough to pick up the theme.

this isnt a comment on the work as a whole but if i had written the line "our age of bronze is collapsing" and it was viewed by millions of people id probably seek death

But I didn’t want Cadburys to taste like shite, that’s been imposed on me. Mondolez made $2.4 billion last year they could have swallowed some of the higher cocoa costs, but didn’t, and more importantly, now costs are lower, they won’t reinstate the quality will they?

I think my most genuinely unpopular take is that a widely held and genuine consumer preference for cheaper, lower-quality goods, not private equity, is driving the decline in quality of consumer goods like clothing and housewares.

i'd say "pay attention to who has kind things to say about rod liddle, the racist pedophile, following his death" but to no surprise it is the entirety of the mainstream british press
