📍 Dublin, Ireland Welcome to my head: please excuse the mess
It’s 2059, and a Mr Dalton is charging €1,000 entry free to Europe’s most sought after attraction: the last remaining forest that hasn’t burnt down in 55°C summers
Lovely to get a visit to the rainforest from Brian and Gilly of Wildacres. We had loads of great chats and laughs, and a picnic lunch on an elevated rock overlooking the forest canopy and Atlantic beyond. What they're achieving in opening up hearts and minds to nature deserves *so* much respect 👏

One study found that while a data centre can use millions of litres of water a day to cool its servers, this figure is dwarfed by the volume apparently required to keep a 23-year-old marketing coordinator “fully hydrated”. theshovel.com.au/2026/07/27/w...

The commonly held belief that there were three wise men at the Nativity has been undermined by modern research, which says the likely number was 18.

At 90% coverage, this will be the best partial eclipse since 1999 (was 92% in Dublin and up to 97% in North West of the country)
Something to put into your calendars… In the evening of the 12th August, there will be a partial solar eclipse visible from everywhere in Ireland (weather permitting). It will start at about 10 past 6 in the evening, and end at about a 5 past eight. 1/13

Can someone please tell @dublinbusnews.bsky.social that when I have an appointment requiring punctuality, I can’t rely on a “scheduled” bus. If a rare bus anyway, I can’t even rely on a back-up plan but must go straight to multi-bus Plan B. All this uses time & energy I could really spend elsewhere.

Gary Gannon: Dublin city centre is out of control this week, we cannot accept this as normal
On his walk home through Dublin last night, the Social Democrats TD saw a capital city in chaos, with clear indications that Ireland’s drug and policing policies have utterly failed.
