The biggest thing we need to do is let people know that the protests are FUN. Yelling fuck the man is fun. You will meet fun people. We also need to make them more fun. Bring grills like the French. Bring instruments like it’s Mardi Gras. Give people a reason to spend their weekend in the streets.
They’re fun and they’re energizing! It’s one thing to see the pics and know people are fighting back, but the encouragement & contagious optimism is VISCERAL when you are there. Does a lot to counteract the depression & anxiety of living through this time

Citizens want to be more protected by the EU. According to a recent Eurobarometer survey, 66% of EU citizens want the EU to take a more important role in protecting them against global crises and security risks. This view is particularly strong amongst younger Europeans.

I saw it in 2017 at the women's march. Honestly, I feel jaded and cynical about this. We've been doing these mass protests for 8 plus years and somehow we're still worse off. Power doesn't care about peaceful protests like this. They can be ignored and will be.

There were very large crowds at the #HandsOff rallies against the Trump regime that took place in cities and towns across the USA today, likely millions participating overall. It's good to see this level of mobilisation happening, they've got a fight on their hands to keep their republic.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
