New paper alert! In this paper we were interested to formally test some of the assumptions made by computational psychiatrists - assumptions about parameter recoverability, reliability and validity. www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

I was so pleased and proud to watch my 2nd year PhD students, Lisa Woodley + @holmyers.bsky.social present their work at our PGR conference yesterday. Oh, and @lucysta02475610.bsky.social submitted a grant, and @kellydonegan.bsky.social chaired the mental health session. What a day!
I'm always so pleased when it's possible to support talented undergraduates to gain research experience. Congratulations to Arianna Coraggio, who received a @bapsych.bsky.social summer internship to work with me, Dr Hannah Hobson, and Lisa Woodley. cognition-mental-health.github.io/blog/2026/ar...

Kelly said ‘never again’ at the end of this walk. I attribute that to the distance rather than the company - either way, I think she deserves your sponsorship money.
Spent my Saturday with a “32km” (more like 36km/7 hour) 1:1 meeting with my supervisor @alexandrapike.bsky.social 🚶♀️~ all for a good cause for the Mentally Fit York Fund 🧠 though our physical health was definitely questionned 👣🩹
I'm walking 32km next week (along with @kellydonegan.bsky.social) to raise funds for Mentally Fit York! Just to make it more difficult, my 2 year old will occasionally be providing additional resistance by acting as a weighted backpack. Please sponsor me! universityofyork.enthuse.com/pf/alexandra...
Getting to that point in the PhD where you have results to show is so rewarding- looking forward to talking on this more hopefully! 🙏
So exciting to see @lucysta02475610.bsky.social present the results of her mammoth, multi-year project to develop a questionnaire measuring the Negative Appraisal of Gastric Sensations (NAGS): it differentiates between people with eating disorders and gastric disorders! @yorkpsychology.bsky.social

Excited to say that Hypatia has secured a second round of funding thanks to the @wellcometrust.bsky.social 💫 This milestone allows us to build the technology and team and conduct validation efforts across the UK and Australia to bridge the ecosystems.
TBH the thing that is most sad about the loss of ~2015-2021 era science twitter is the loss of a public square where grad students can see, and participate in, the diversity of expert opinions in the field. It really shaped how I see science.
Excellent thread for grad students to dive into - so much expertise (and diversity of opinion!) in the comments 👇

The fab @holmyers.bsky.social wrote this wonderful Mental Elf blog on IU through development, and how this relates to anxiety and depression at age 10. Thanks to @nhigsonsweeney.bsky.social - writing for different audiences is such a skill!
Preschoolers who find uncertainty hard to handle may be more prone to anxiety later in life, but it’s not that simple. New research explores how intolerance of uncertainty at age 4 links to anxiety, depression & behaviour problems up to age 10. #ChildMentalHealth #Anxiety #Uncertainty 🧵 THREAD
Read our new paper on qualitative experiences of gastric interoception!

Hello hivemind! I haven't seen one of these in a while but I know that back-in-the-day they were all the rage: does anyone have a funky spreadsheet of MH/psych/neuro-relevant grants/fellowships for ECRs that they wouldn't mind me sharing with my lab?
