Dude who occasionally writes stuff about games and film. Once accurately described as a "real life point-and-click character" in both good and bad ways.

OK, this is wild. In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them. It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*. What the HELL? 1/

Still shocked really about Pac. One of the best British wrestlers of the last 25 years, a guy who made everything in-ring look buttery smooth, whether it was his black arrow or a simple headlock. Thought I'd post a small thread of some readily available matches.

It's not appropriate for cis people to say that trans people are too alarmed, or that certain trans writers are irresponsibly causing trans people to think the sky is falling. I want to take some time in this 🧵 to write personally about how my skies have fallen.

You can see the americanisation of British news right here. Pointless 24 hour coverage that needs to fill every second with anything so Sky flys a helicopter showing a routine train service with no actual substance on Burnham's policy or even discussion on the state of British railways

The Sky News helicopter is currently following Andy Burnham's train all the way down to London. Unclear what exactly they expect to happen en route

This article could apply to basketball and so many more American sports coverage, where there are guys who offer no insight into tactics and instead spout off nonsense phrases and pointless jibes but get by using some random stats they've been handed by a producer

I am actually not sure how to communicate how weird it is that Lalas is on this panel. Henry and Ibrahimovic are two of the best forwards of the past 20 years; Lalas peaked at Padova, a club that hasn’t been in Serie A since the Clinton administration www.theguardian.com/football/202...

Can't wait for Summer Game Fest where Keighley reads everything like he copy-pasted every announcement straight from the original publisher email and with all the excitement of a Tory party conference

Thoughts on the PS5 State of Play: - Kemuri looks promising and was one of the few completely original games - Wolverine has emptied the jam reserves but unsure how it will differ mechanically from other games - Wake me up when September ends

On Thursday evening Valnet issued new contracts to writers at TheGamer instituting a minimum article viewership threshold for payment. Most writers already have pay tied to article performance, but this new system would mean that if a piece didn't get X number of clicks you wouldn't be paid for it.

"Geometry, texture assets and materials are unchanged" - Really living in an alternate reality with that line. These companies are destroying the planet and our water resources for this? To make Grace Ashcroft look even deader behind the eyes?

This is part of the reason I don't want to see a trailer for a game until its coming out in a year or two. The games industry built itself on endless hype for games rather than encouraging players to properly focus on games, creating players who aren't excited and don't actually engage

Hey so can someone tell me why we should even pay attention to the trailers at events like The Game Awards when those games won't even come out?
