Q. for scientists: how do you efficiently supervise undergrads for fully computational projects? Less 1:1 supervision time than wet lab can mean less support if they don't actively ask for it, more use of AI to produce loads of code without full understanding, loss of motivation... Any tips welcome!

🚨 New preprint alert 🚨 I’m excited to share our study presenting a non-invasive method for sexing sea turtle hatchlings via DNA methylation - the culmination of many years of work! Huge thanks to our fantastic co-authors, whose dedication made this possible doi.org/10.64898/202...

DNA methylation reveals evolved buffering responses to climate-driven sex ratio skew in sea turtles

Species with temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD), including all sea turtles which produce females at warmer temperatures, face projections of demographic collapse under climate-driven sex ra...

If you want to know more about DNA methylation in conservation, especially temperature-sex dependent species, check this cool video & the paper tinyurl.com/yvspkzp6! It was a pleasure to be part of such cool collaboration, very well done for the intense work @eugeniecyen.bsky.social you're a queen!
