I revere Dolly Parton much as I do Fred Rogers. They’re people who made it their life goal just to be gentle and kind to everyone that they met. They are prime examples of how we all should behave and live our lives.
One of the great things about Dolly Parton (besides all of the stuff from being a wonderful person) is how she blended the soul of outlaw country with Nashville style better than anyone else

Typical timeline right now: Lawful entry followed by timely asylum application, receipt notice literally says "You may remain in the U.S. until your application is decided," work permit issued, never violated any law. Then ICE arrests them, puts them in a filthy jail w/o bond and tweets about it.
Most US voters barely understand even the basics on immigration and citizenship. Weirdly, I think that's a positive when you think of the upside. The more you learn about this broken system, the more sympathetic you become to those navigating it + those who've allegedly violated its rules.
I look to the priesthood for moral guidance but I count on the nuns for leadership

There is so much decision-making under Netanyahu that seems to weaken Israel’s long term position that I think only a YOLO framework can explain it.
Anyway, I hope our elected leaders read this. Does the fact that we were 1 second away from two fatalities matter as a data point? Or does it only matter if that driver had successfully killed me and one of the 8 year olds you heard from this past Saturday?
