We shouldn’t forget the terror, sacrifice, and risks bravely taken in the first year by many people. We should also understand that Covid can still be a devastating debilitating disease, and deadly, and that no one should have to beg to be protected from it.
I’ve seen a lot of health care workers rightfully sharing their memories from 2020, and their anger at how their struggle is minimized. I hope that they understand this feeling of being forgotten is akin to how many high risk patients feel today, when they have to beg health care workers to mask.

The Tikvah Fund is committed to a Judeopessimist view of Jewish history that sees all of world history as a series of unchanging hatreds and persecutions, so that someone who hates Jews because Israel killed his family in Lebanon is analogous to a Nazi. Historical context is thus their enemy.

Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.
Bay Area friends: would you consider opening your home to these two cuddly cats? A friend found them behind a gas station. Their sibling, a black cat, got adopted, but it appears no one likes orange cats. They are being kept in a bathroom for the time being and need a home.

Unfortunately, she's unable to keep them and I'm trying to find them a home. They are at risk of going to a shelter. Bay Area people, are you open to adopting?

Is it true that Weiss and Ellison privately joke that "CBS" now stands for "Children Be Sexy"? It's impossible to say just yet. But given all the work they've done to shield all the pedophiles in the Trump administration from the Epstein Files story, we just can't rule it out.

Brian Beutler@brianbeutler.bsky.social · yesterdayI was appalled (though not surprised) when I learned Sunday that Senate Dems intend to help Republicans fund the government through the election, with one minimal concession that has nothing to do with election subversion or ongoing Trump theft of federal dollars from blue states. And I remain so.
Everywhere should be a hostile place for Republicans. They should not be able to find a friend anywhere. They should lose all their professional and familial relationships. They should be blocked from signing up to social media platforms, clubs, and yard sales. They should be ejected from fairs.
