Googlers for Job Security Take Google I/O Demo Day! 💻 This year’s Google I/O took place amid mass layoffs at our peer Big Tech companies. AWU members came out to canvass our coworkers and invite them into our campaign for common-sense job security protections at Google.

While Alphabet’s leadership was busy reporting on another quarter of strong profits today, the average Googler is working in an atmosphere of fear and anxiety driven by rampant layoffs throughout our industry. We know that Alphabet workers do our best work when we feel secure in our employment.

We are Googlers for Job Security. We live and work in many different locations. We hold a diversity of job titles. We even have a multitude of reasons that we joined this movement. But we are united in our belief that all Googlers deserve to feel secure in our employment!

Is the current tech landscape causing you anxiety? Does every layoff announcement only deepen this fear? You're not alone. Every one of your coworkers featured in this collage has felt the same way. But we stand united as Googlers for Job Security to say: don’t panic, organize!

From the U.S. to Korea, Alphabet workers are experiencing increasing job insecurity - but we're organizing and fighting back together. The Alphabet Workers Union stands in solidarity with our union siblings in the Google Korea Union! Google must come to the table NOW!

⚠️Years of talks. Dozens of bargaining sessions. Still no deal. Now the Google Korea union is warning a strike could be on the table.

We represent groups of workers from Amazon, Google, and Microsoft. Our organizations typically focus on a range of issues, from better workplace protections to the pursuit of environmental justice and the demilitarization of our technology. This is our first statement together.

AWU members in the Bay Area are standing in solidarity with United Educators of SF, who went on strike today for the first time in nearly 50 years! If you’re an AWU member in the Bay, join us on the UESF picket lines for as long as it takes for our educators to win the contract they deserve! #1u

Last week, our members & coworkers stood up against the fear & division ICE is attempting to sow and showed our power at local demonstrations, including the National Day of Action on Jan 30. Hundreds of members joined actions throughout the week and united in solidarity with our immigrant neighbors!

On January 4, 2026, Alphabet Workers Union turned 5! To celebrate our union’s 5th birthday, AWU members reflected on our first 5 years as a union. Some of us are founding members and some of us joined just this month – but we're all building worker power at Alphabet.
