Another fiscal year ahead, another Republican federal shutdown? This time he’s threatening his own party: abolish the filibuster & allow a vote on the SAVE Act, a bogus effort to strip eligible voters of their voting rights in the name of “voter fraud”, or face another September shutdown.

Shutdown fears rise as Trump, Democrats gird for September showdown

Senators in both parties say the odds are rising of another government shutdown in September after President Trump demanded that GOP leaders abolish the filibuster or face a spending showdown and a…

The Antiquities Act allows presidents to create National Monuments like Bears Ears & Grand Staircase Escalante. These are our public lands and no president should abuse their power by shrinking or revoking National Monument status. For more, see the post below, by @westernpriorities.org

Staff within DOI’s Office of the Chief Information Officer got an email today saying the CIO has left after only 1 year. No successor has been named & many staff reassigned from Bureaus to OCIO don’t have position descriptions over a year into “consolidation”. Stay classy & efficient, Interior! 🙄

Interior Department CIO is out after holding job for over a year | Federal News Network

Under his tenure, the Interior Department instructed all of its bureaus and offices to delete non-English content from their websites.

Forcing Feds to sign NDAs has nothing to do with protecting classified information - that protection already exists. This regime wants to make it harder for civil servants (who work for you!) to do our work transparently & blow the whistle on their efforts to break the law.

“Legal scholars warn the NDAs could make it harder for the public to understand policy decisions and set up a fight over what workers can say once they leave the government.” news.bloomberglaw.com/daily-labor-...

Please consider using the template in the link to voice your support for this bill. AI data centers have a wide range of devastating impacts on communities & the environment, & it’s important to let our representatives know supporting development of AI data centers will cost them votes.

The Watchdog Coalition@thewatchdogco.bsky.social · 2mo ago

While Trump hands Big Tech whatever they want, Bernie and AOC are fighting back. They introduced a bill to stop the unchecked explosion of massive, energy-guzzling AI data centers that are raising costs for regular families. Make Congress feel the pressure:

Dismantling scientific infrastructure & programs that gather & analyze data does not actually make climate change less real or absolve anyone of the responsibility of addressing our role in its devastating and rapidly escalating impacts. It leaves us less prepared, which makes things MUCH worse.

Happy Pride Month, especially to my struggling Fed fam. As of this year, feds can no longer receive coverage for gender-affirming procedures & hormone therapies through our health insurance options due to new discriminatory language in federal policies. Trans rights = human rights. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💙

🧵1/X Colorado River storage at Lakes Powell & Mead are near historic lows, risking loss of ability to generate hydropower & meet longstanding water entitlements are at risk. Short-term options are risky (depleting backup sources) & do not address the compounding nature of the trend in decline.

We all have a right to medical privacy. If federal health insurance companies send medical records & details of diagnoses, tests, prescriptions & so forth to the federal gov’t - our employer! - it could be used to discriminate in retention & promotion. Or worse.

Trump administration personnel agency is asking for federal workers' medical records

The Office of Personnel Management is asking insurers that cover federal employees and retirees to hand over details about their medical visits, their pharmacy claims, and more.

☎️ would be awesome if you could call Congress on your lunch break about the Forest Service reorg. Some are calling it a dismantling. Big business (timber, mining, oil, realty, etc.) might call it “dinner.” 📞 Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121 Details in 🧵

Most prescient, clear/eyed work of writing I’ve read on reorg. Read it. Then act. “Call your senators. Call your representative. Not next week or later. Now. Tell them this is not a reorganization — it’s the destruction of a federal agency by executive fiat and that Congress must intervene.”

Interior employees just got offered another round of deferred resignation. The email references desire to create greater efficiency and accountability with all evidence of the past year showing they’re doing the opposite.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility. As of this year, federal employee health insurance policies outright discriminate against trans folks by no longer covering gender affirming care. Those who need surgery & hormone therapy are going without or paying out of pocket. Trans Feds: you matter. 💙🏳️‍⚧️

Floral design in the pink, blue and white colors consistent with the trans pride flag with trans rights are human rights written on it.

Pop quiz! Revoking the Endangered Species Act for “reasons of national security” to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico is: A) a misuse of the provision B) deadly for dozens of protected species C) his inadvertent admission of having jeopardized nat’l security D) All If you said D, you’re correct!

Yes, Senator Murkowski is a Republican, but her explanation of how the SAVE Act will hurt her constituents is applicable to everyone. Its a clear and concise way to show just how many people the SAVE Act would disenfranchise from their constitutional right to vote. Hoping she remains a no vote
