My doctor friends have told me that they can’t practice medicine the way they are taught in med school because of the insurance industry controlling everything. They can’t help people. They don’t recommend kids today go to med school.

It’s just so frustrating that we have to wait until stinkin truck drivers or Nebraskan farmers start feeling a price crunch - somehow their economic wellbeing is supposed to be more important than rights & democracy of the entire US. I’m sick of rural America holding our country hostage.

If NFL owners want to censor who performs in stadiums, they shouldn't ask taxpayers to help build them. You can't take public subsidies for stadiums then use them as your personal editorial board. Pay for it all out of your own pocket and hold as many Kid Rock concerts as you want to.

The thing about AI companies using state power to rapidly push AI & make money, & now attempt to use the state to rein in AI - is that they seem to expect that the taxpayer will pay to halt/repair the damage that their greed created. Setting up external depts to monitor/safeguard AI is expensive.

Pretty extraordinary that our govt - instead of working thru dissension - just sends everyone on an extended vacay at the first sign of disagreement. What other business or institution could operate like that? No wonder nothing gets done. Shameful.

Random note; since my dad passed away last December, I’ve been handling all of my mom’s mail and accounts. It is incredible. How many scams are aimed at the elderly in this country, including my companies that superficially seem legitimate. Every week her mail is full of this crap.

I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.
