More uncovered treasure while unpacking some of the lingering boxes from the house move (almost 2 years ago now 😳). It’s a little old and battered, but still a gorgeous thing, with some of the John Blanche artwork a particular highlight and memory bomb for me ☺️. #Tolkien

A trip to one of my favourite ruined castles yesterday -Tantallon castle, perched on the cliffs overlooking the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock. Some of it dating back to the 12th century, and the poor place one of the casualties of Cromwell’s cannons in the 17th century (boo hiss). 🏰 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Pints of mild all round after a school day #DCC session today (which felt very naughty!). Good clean (ish) extra-dimensional spidery fun, with an eldritch crystal, a mad jeweller and a side of meddling in dark dimensions 😊🕷️🌌. Maybe we will all be able to pronounce reliquary properly one day 😂.

Holiday reading. Just finished Question 7 by Richard Flanagan. It’s a beautiful book, really powerful in many ways but, more than anything else, I found it incredibly sad. As I get older, I need something more uplifting to hold on to, I think.

Went for a wander with the mad pup this afternoon, and found this place about 2km up the road 😳. Not obviously haunted and/or a witches house, oh no. And just a hop and a skip from the grim gateposts for nearby Eagle Hall 🦅. Maybe I should stop listening to the Lovecraft Investigations for a bit 😂

A return to Eriador and #TOR2e today 😁. Leaving the safety of Bree, the Fellowship journeyed to the Weather Hills in search of a hidden valley & lost treasure, with an irascible Dwarven guide & a morose farmer, both with hidden motives…enjoying system & setting, even with no combat this session (!)

A tabletop covered in ttrpg paraphernalia, including the One Ring 2e core rulebook, a dice tray (with dice), a map of Eriador and some NPC sketches (multiple snacks out of shot…)
