god it'd be so funny if the last chapter of deltarune ends up like Lost or the star wars sequels. like oh haha turns out there was never any plan and they were just making the whole thing up on the fly and they have no idea how to answer any of the questions they created

a while back I attempted porting aerobat to unity, because I figured console support is a requirement and godot's console situation seems extremely baroque and confidence-disinspiring however it now appears the entire concept of "consoles" is ceasing to exist, so

it rules when videogames have an in-universe explanation for why the player can respawn, but also the plot removes this ability at some point, so the game still needs a regular-ass save/reload screen that does the same thing but non-diagetically in case the player dies

I think about King's Quest a lot. Distinct childhood memory of overhearing a middle-aged woman at church telling my mom about how much she loved kings quest. This was like circa 1995? games used to be for everyone until nintendo/sega marketers turned them into Action Toys For 12 Year Old Boys

what's everyone else's fab examples of once massively popular and influential landmark titles in especially western games from back in the day that have just been forgotten and abandoned completely now. mine is black and white

god that myst thing looks so cool. also immediately got me thinking about how much I want a myst game about the Guild of Maintainers. you're like a combination astronaut/building inspector and your job is to teleport into untested worlds and see if anything kills you

just realized I don't actually remember what the new fire emblem is called. like at all. it's just The New Fire Emblem as far as my brain is concerned. I've been waiting for them to make The New Fire Emblem for much longer than it's had an official title

idk if it's a garage door or dumpster lid or what, but something outside my apartment occasionally makes a short metallic *ping* noise, which sounds EXACTLY like the little sound effect the nintendo switch makes when you unlock the screen

DODGEBALL OF PROPHECY: at some point some random court case or legislative pressure will snap japan's weird gray-area copyright exception for derivative works and pixiv will suddenly delete 20+ years of fanart overnight

I haven't been closely following recent anime, but from what I can tell there's currently two shows about depressed girls who hate their jobs and drink all the time, and one about a depressed catgirl who hates her job and smokes all the time. starting to suspect this Says Something About Society

listen if the ice caps are doomed regardless then there's no reason I shouldn't be allowed to have a pet emperor penguin. it's important conservation work okay

hell yeah the air quality has improved to merely "several times worse than any previous event in history" instead of "so bad it broke the scale that's supposed to measure how bad it is"
