My kitten has been gleefully gnawing on my zebra succulent, so I put lemon peel and zest in its pot as a deterrent, and it actually worked! She approached it with plans of violence, made a little face, and then walked away.

I have to decide between five probably equally sweet and adorable kittens today. This is undoubtedly a "my steak is too juicy, my lobster too buttery" problem, but wish me luck anyway!

It's possible other schools will follow its lead and dismantle & ruin an amazing resource students need & have relied on for decades for writing advice. It's almost like there is a national movement in higher ed to dismantle writing pedagogy/resources so AI can take over the writing classroom

It‘s quite possible that with this move, @harvard.edu could become the only Ivy League university without a writing center. www.thecrimson.com/article/2026...

Shakespeare's Othello, thinking he's been cuckolded, compares himself to a "hornèd beast." His insecurity and jealousy eventually lead him to a monstrous course of action. I love Iago's response here: "There’s many a beast, then, in a populous city, / And many a civil monster." #WyrdWednesday

IAGO
How is it, general? Have you not hurt your head?
OTHELLO
Dost thou mock me?
IAGO I mock you not, by heaven!
Would you would bear your fortune like a man!
OTHELLO
A hornèd man’s a monster and a beast.
IAGO
There’s many a beast, then, in a populous city,
And many a civil monster.

New dental hygienist, upon finding out I teach writing: “Omg, but I love Chat! I talk to her all the time. She makes everything so easy! But aren’t you worried AI is going to take over?” Me: ::heavy sigh before unleashing a short ted talk about the hype, ethical harms, & limits of LLMs:: Her: 😶

"Where the rich ruler rested always...There hung an all-golden Radiant fly-net around the folk-chief’s Bed embroidered; so that the baleful one, The loathed leader, might look unhindered On everyone of the warrior band Who entered in, and on him none" - the old English poem Judith #WyrdWednesday

"Judith and Holofernes" by Jan de Bray, 1659, portraying the Assyrian general in his drunken slumber as he is about to be dispatched by Judith.
