Has anyone ever heard of this Farmers Forum website? I'm completely baffled by this article - if such a place exists in Mayo, I've not heard of it. Neither is it even named - this looks completely AI generated. share.google/3O72Qhx0BFpk...

It's very, very rare (and I mean VERY rare) that I agree with anything Conor writes, but he's bang on here.
"A city doesn't get hollowed out by too many visitors. It hollows out when too little of the city remains underneath them, when the thing they queued to see has been quietly sold off around them while they queued." Great piece on #Dublin by Conor McGuire in Western People.
Have noticed over the years that many appearing on small independent things to promote their stuff do very little in the line of promoting that small independent thing in return.
Rather than rage at women clinging to the hope of good men, why are the good men not raging openly about predators in their midst? Shunning them. Calling them out at every opportunity. Not as 'fathers of daughters' but as men. The problem does not lie with women. It lies with turning blind eyes.
You notice how it's never women wearing pervert glasses and invading other people's spaces?
Actually quite angry reading this. I know it’s a bit passé to talk about “why don’t politicians crack down on people not using headphones on the bus” but I think we do need to reckon with platforms that incentivise people to completely disregard the norms of civil society and get away with it.
Our government capitulated and offered hundreds of millions of euro in subsidies to a glorified Facebook group of angry uncles...

Look, just because he died young, I'm not going to pretend I'm not aware that Glen Hansard groomed a teenager and had a well circulated reputation amongst heads and people in the music industry for chatting up teenage girls, and probably worse.
Darragh O'Brien needs to be asked a direct question: will hyperscale energy consumers like Data Centres (which consume at least 1/4 of all electricity in Ireland) also face price hikes and other measures to offset the burden citizens are being asked to shoulder?

Predicted this a while back (hypothetically obvs). Celtic Tiger, Mayo-shtyle. And as utterly joyous as it's been, the dark side of it all will inevitably emerge too.
Mayo’s historic All-Ireland win sparked a major spending surge across the county, according to new Bank of Ireland data. Pub, restaurant, takeaway and hotel spending all increased as supporters celebrated the county’s first Sam Maguire title in 75 years. 🧵 Details below. [1/2]
The wildfire in Tipperary covered 700 hectares. The smoke could be smelled 100km away at Cork Airport. Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael have spent the summer setting the climate act aside, saying it has been "weaponised" by NGOs.

Looking for a big favour! Back in Mayo and FORGOT TO BUY THE DAY'S PAPERS and of course they are all sold out in Mayo. Anyone fancy getting me 2 x copies of the Indo and the Irish Times and putting them in the post this week? I'll Revolut all costs with huge gratitude!
Night before a Mayo final. The dread of THAT feeling, yet again. Need to be on the road in 6 hours. Why am I awake 😩
In a democracy, a politician saying "I am against all judicial reviews" should be career-ending. This is an attempt to undermine the rule of law.
Jack Chambers relies upon citizens (or people in the economy as he calls them) not understanding what a judicial review is. If the state has broken the law you may ask the court to hold them to account. That's what a JR is, and what Jack Chambers is against. The government following it's own laws.

Surely it's up to festival programmers to decide what content thry want and don't want in their programmes?
Rowling looming over a progressive Irish cultural festival with her menacing insinuations & a phalanx of expensive lawyers dashing off legal letters. And all because the organisers don’t want transphobes peddling hate at their event. A nauseating spectacle of spite.
