Imbibe Coffee Roasters

We roast speciality coffee very very well. We give: 1% of all our revenue to Women's Aid 1% to origin projects 1% to local projects 1% to staff = > 30% of profits Big businesses could easily run similarly. www.imbibe.ie

Seems @bsky.app deleted my post about Rod Liddle, saying it breached community guidelines, but not explaining how. You've got mail, lads - if you're thinking of going in to bat for a proven domestic abuser, misogynist and racist, you might want to think again.

Hard to look at the coffee futures market this last few months and not feel it's being massively manipulated. One day in July saw a $.50 per lb spike, one of the biggest in history. Historically, weather in Brazil has been the biggest factor. Now we can add funds and it seems AI algos to the mix.

If you're a coffee nerd type buying a 250 gram bag for over €30, please Google the coffee to make sure you're not being screwed. Have been seeing a bit of gouging going on with differences of up to 50% for the same coffee. At this point, I'd almost recommend using AI to check. Almost...

Microsoft: $101 BILLION in profits. $12.5 BILLION in tax breaks. $176 BILLION in stock buybacks. 4,800 workers fired this week. 9,000 workers fired last year. Please don't tell me trickle-down economics works. It never did. Nothing trickles down.

A reminder: If you absolutely cannot boycott Amazon, don’t. But can you make them NOT your default? If every Amazon customer cut their spending by just 10%, Bezos would burst his facelift sutures. This doesn’t have to be an all or nothing.

“Dublin is cosplaying as #Dublin” “Dublin planning authorities have enabled the growth of a city centre hub that performs Irishness for a living & can't house the Irish who'd do the performing.” Devastatingly accurate telling of the dismantling of the town we loved so well. #spéirghorm #IrishPol

"A city doesn't get hollowed out by too many visitors. It hollows out when too little of the city remains underneath them, when the thing they queued to see has been quietly sold off around them while they queued." Great piece on #Dublin by Conor McGuire in Western People.

While back a business owner said online that we give away what we do for tax breaks. Annoyed me as doing a 1 minute Google search would show that’s not how tax works. That said, in world today, can see why many might struggle to believe any business is trying to good things simply for good reasons.

I've issues with media personalities with more than enough cash promoting gambling companies who are a scourge on many lives. Particularly shit when it's someone who brought you joy and seemed decent. Cantona is the big one for me. Had problems with Meaney since time he did ads for Bank of Scotland.

Just in one of my favourite restaurants. It’s a little noodle/dumpling place that’s pretty inexpensive. Guy beside me was asking about menu and then asked if he could taste two dishes before ordering them. This is why I could never own a cafe. Would spend way too much time asking people to leave.
