I am once again taking 100ish high school Seniors on a cabin trip for 24 hours for work! It's not on the Fall Equinox, but it is a Blood Moon eclipse, so it feels a bit like the start of a horror movie.

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.

Last night I dreamed that I wrote a book with a strange comp list - The Secret History meets Percy Jackson and To All the Boys I Loved Before. It was long too - around 400 pages. I also remember writing parts for my writing partner and cackling like a writing gremlin. Dreams are weird.

*sigh* narcissists often destroy things that benefit them, bc the only thing they care about is image, which includes the perception of power, not anything else a person normally values. even non-narcissistic amoral people don't usually directly shit in their own food bowl intentionally.

If someone more marginalized than you gains an opportunity or lucky break. Especially if they needed it to survive. You shouldn't attack said marginalized person or devalue their hard work. It feels very jealous and entitled. Please self reflect.
