”abolish ICE“ means (1) abolishing a particular agency and (2) salting the earth so that nothing that does what it does can ever emerge again—no matter what it‘s called or who is in charge of it.

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days. ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
ICE agents shouldn’t be executing people on the street even if they ARE the target of the warrant
There’s something extra unsettling about seeing a place so familiar in the headlines and on the news. We should feel the horrors for what they are, regardless of how “close” it feels to us personally, but damn, there’s no doubting the added impact of familiarity.
Biddeford is my hometown and where I spent the first ~20 years of my life. Minnesota has been home for ~15 years now. These 2026 headlines feel so surreal. And it’s a painful reminder that this is happening here, now, “close to home”All of our homes. Stay safe. Fuck ICE.
I grew up in Maine & moved to the Twin Cities ~15yrs ago. These latest targets happen to hold a uniquely special place in my heart. Know that there are hearts that ache with you; united in grief, rage, and courage. Stay safe. Fuck ICE.
The number of bruises I have on my body because my 3yo wants to “cuddle” but can’t sit still and doesn’t understand how pointy their lil elbows are 🥴 Literally just looked at me and went “let me just scootch a little higher” as his heel dug into my calf and his elbow into my tummy.
Are you in the Twin Cities? Are you interested in going to Open Source Summit next week but can’t afford a ticket? DM me
My Threads feed is full of Black folks absolutely gutted and despairing over today’s Voting Rights Act ruling. I love Bluesky for so much, but today is one of those historical moments where it is stark that we really live in two different Americas.
The way that tech middle management in the age of AI has me reaching for a glass of wine at the end of the night tho 😮💨
omg those astronauts who are parents? THEY CAN LITERALLY TELL THEIR CHILDREN “I LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK”
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
If you’re watching us from outside the United States, it’s pretty much as bad as it looks.
One of my fav feelings is laying in bed (with a cat purring on top of me, of course) while listening to my kids play with my partner in the other room; their sweet little voices, the “daaadddy look at this” and the giggles from all of them. Grateful to have experienced this moment of peace today 🤍
to imagine back on that beautiful blue orb that makes all of this unique life possible we can’t stop bombing and killing one another, it’s terribly sad
#Artemis II lunar flyby images are showing up! 😍 A crescent Earth setting behind the Moon.
So I need to stop a panic attack, then call my reps to beg someone to stop him, then do my job answering emails and collecting data. Do I have that right?
i feel like people in Minnesota would say the opposite. the response from Bluesky to the ICE occupation has been enormous. it really made me feel like this is a real platform where people are building and connecting.
maybe im doing it wrong but i feel like the various crises of 2026 have revealed the limitations of this platform for me. twitter was always invaluable to me in chaotic times bc you had a lot of subj matter expert weirdos coming out of the woodwork. just dont feel like there's a much of that here rn
Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate — overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.
Recall that Melissa Hortman and her husband were murdered not long ago by a fake cop who showed up at their door looking like this guy
This is from Georgia Fort’s video. DEA?!? Gotta be a “task force.”
This brown Minnesotan is here to tell you that this is the whitest take. I am fucking terrorized.
Something I've been trying to impart on people is that the ICE occupation in Minnesota is both an ethnic cleansing and an ideological terror campaign. It's clear that the second part has utterly failed; the community is not terrified. But ICE is now desperately trying to salvage the first part.
Some things to understand about people from Minnesota on here right now, a short thread:
The pattern has been that when we have a small victory, the next day they come with more viciousness. (See last Fri, then Saturday) Be extra careful today, friends. They are swarming.
ICE is shitting where the sleep, all up in Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove right now.
Something important to understand about ICE thugs in the Twin Cities is that they're harassing innocent kids and parents at bus stops and schools every single day. Even after the Pretti shooting. It's terrorism.
I want to speak to white women directly. Not to shame you. But to offer a necessary mirror. Because what that reflection reveals isn’t just exhaustion. It reveals perspective. Many of you are only now recognizing what it feels like to mother without tenderness,
Everything they learned in Minnesota they’re applying in Maine from day one. They started off doing fast-moving snatch and grabs on the street, recording and using facial id on observers, and threatening observers directly. They’ll do it all where you live too.
Why is the msm outside of Maine not covering this? It seems like a huge and very troubling story to me. ICE coming to observers houses or calling them on the phone warning them to back off??!! www.pressherald.com/2026/01/23/i...
not over yet, but I literally cannot express the depth of my gratitude for the all the observers, patrollers, plate checkers, dispatchers, commuters who continue to successfully protect this city, sometimes at the cost of their wellbeing or lives. so many neighbors were not stolen, because of you
Naming someone is not doxxing. They aren’t undercover. They aren’t intelligence agents overseas. This is outrageous - we are supposed to be a free Republic and these people want an authoritarian police state. Lawsuits should be filed & ranking Dems in Congress should act.
It just feels like a good time for you to see my cat, Potato. He may be the world’s greatest cat and literally anyone could walk in my front door and get high-quality snugs from him (except for nazis, of course; Potato has an excellent judge of character).
