Dropping my bestie off at the bus station. We went to a little beach in Cape Elizabeth for a bit, because it was such a beautiful day. I forget how lucky I am to be surrounded with this beauty all the time.

I would really love it if people who do not live in or vote in Maine or understand the culture of this state just keep their opinions to themselves. And if they can’t do that, listen to the people who live here first. And then stop telling how we should vote or think.

They’re over proofed!!!! In my best Paul Hollywood voice. My poor lussebullar. Ah, well. They taste REALLY good. Had a work call interrupt me for far too long. Oops. There’s more dough in the fridge and I’ll try for some prettier ones tomorrow.

Really really fat saffron buns

Made some sufganiyot today! Not the prettiest things in the world but tasty! I made the jam inside! They look a disaster but it won’t stop me from eating the whole plate!

7 months ago I ordered a set of measuring cups from Sweden, the only set I could find with the VERY specific measurements they use. They got stuck in customs for months. It was a whole thing. I had to contact the company I bought them from, the company that produced them, and file SO MUCH PAPERWORK.

Nice to wake up and realize I live in a sane state. I was a little worried there for a bit. But all the loud voices online, were just that…noise and trolls. Thank you, Maine. #maine

Weekend at the Common Ground Fair in Maine. Volunteered yesterday and have a shift for tomorrow. Today was my free day so I wandered around, went to a chicken first aid talk, and angora rabbit grooming demo, helped with a community felting project, and went to a solar cooking demo. Always fun.

Hey Gardening Blue Sky! Does anyone have tips on growing poppies? I can never get them to grow. My grandmother had lovely ones, which my uncle has the later generations of in his garden. But mine never grow. What am I doing wrong? #gardening #gardens #maine 🌱

Hey Maine! Enjoying this break in the heat!? My new air conditioner was delivered today. So, you’re welcome. 😂 It will be nice to have one newer than 15 years old if it gets hot again! #maine

Had my first client facing call in three years at the new (old) job and it felt like coming home! My position is a little bit different now, but still exciting and fun, and I’m so happy to be getting back into the swing of things!!! It’s so nice to wake up excited to go to work!

At the final reunion for Simon’s Rock. Have gone through quite a few emotions and reflections this past weekend. It was nice to see so many familiar faces, and strengthen some long held friendships. Had a lot of nice walks and reflecting on the last 35 or so years. Some nice unexpected surprises.

Planted 7 more pepper plants, 5 more tomato plants, a packet of dill seeds, a packet of basil seeds, a motherwort plant, and a boneset plant on my lunch break today. Many more seeds to plant! Chipping away at things. Just in time for yet another rainy weekend! #maine #garden 🌱

Spent my lunch break planting so many seeds. Another rainy weekend coming, so getting them in while the sun shines! Squash, beans, lupini, fava beans, luffa, melons, and a bunch of dye and tea herbs. Now sorting through to see what to plant when the rain stops! 🌱 #gardening

Met someone online who was looking for dandelions to forage. I invited her over to help herself! She left with all the flowers she could pick for infusing into oil and making into tea, fresh nettles for tea and comfrey for medicine, a borage plant, a comfrey plant, and a lemon balm plant. 🌱 #maine

Garlic mustard and ramp pesto for dinner tonight. A friend of mine found some garlic mustard on her property, and I happily volunteered to eradicate it for her. Free dinner! I also walked away with a bunch of new other plants that she shared, violets and hostas, borage and myrtle. #foraging #maine
