that there's some sort of inherent difference or rivalry between AAA and indie devs. lots of people go back and forth (or want to). obviously some exceptions to this, but for the most part whether you're working AAA/AA/indie is mainly based on happenstance, circumstance, or who will pay your bills

This is one of the best video essays I've ever seen. On games, film, art history, and the ship of Theseus that has become P.T. I am also extremely validated that someone else has drawn a connection between this game and F FOR FAKE (one of my all-time fave movies) + by extension, Kojima and Welles.

This whole concept in LOTR is one of my favourite parts of the whole book. “Evil fucks up because evil people fundamentally cannot imagine that others are not motivated by the same things as them” is another theme that feels relevant right now

big bill shakes is goated. sorry but i will never entertain the argument that he’s overrated. to write something like this and have it ring with such tremendous clarity four centuries later would be incredible if he pulled it off once but he did it dozens of times
