I’m all for people running for office if they feel called to. But if your campaign fails to take off in the first few weeks and there are other candidates talking about many of the same issues you are, you have to drop out. I’m sorry — but it’s the only way we’re getting anywhere.

Checking in on this place which I abandoned for a while because I didn’t have the energy to try and train another algorithm that I now live in Illinois so please start serving me more relevant local news. But anyway, I have an orange son now and he’s a shoe freak.

Fam, this is a challenging moment. We (as reporters) are trying to balance urgency of news & amplification of resistance narratives with not assisting in putting people in prison. It's tough for everyone right now with how fast videos go viral. There's a lot we are not sharing.

Pro-tip: if you have video of you or others directly intervening to obstruct ICE or de-arrest someone, for god’s sake don’t post it on social media. Or at a minimum blur faces first. You’re just begging for federal charges.

I had kind of an insane thought last night but I just wanted to put it out there. I’m sure we all saw the horrific videos of the MTA yesterday. All weekend, PATH was barely operational. And SEPTA has had their funding cut to the bone. My fear: private investors are going to try to step in. +

I cannot emphasize enough how true & real this is. In almost anywhere on the political spectrum you ID with or major issue, there’s probably a bot/troll operation to encourage your rage and vitriol. And how/where that rage gets directed, esp understandable rage, is what they are out to influence.

People on this app get really angry every time I point out that social media manipulation is a real phenomenon that we are all stewing in and that’s having real world consequences and I’m sure part of that is engagement farmers who do that manipulation not liking people talking about it
