I love my in-laws but growing up in a 4-person family did NOT prepare me for dealing with the logistical complexity of “what are we all getting up to tonight” in an 8-person (with spouses) family
I did not know that a practical, broad-brimmed hat would complete me, but I cannot tell you how much myself I feel when I venture out in the world this way

fun fact: the grapefruit was completely unknown until very recently. when charles darwin found out about grapefruit spoons, he deduced the existence of a large citrus variety that would match the spoon's specialized beak. when the grapefruit was finally discovered, it was named after the spoon.
