It’s not a little guy who is looking things up for you! It’s a computer that is processing the frequency of words in (stolen) text on the Internet and then doing a math problem to create an average. That’s all it can ever be!

This is so true. Look at any given set of promotion criteria. Also true of disability and/or neurodivergence and/or chronic illness. I've raised this repeatedly where I am but nothing has changed. Signed, a lecturer whose peers are professors already.
I do have moments when I meet colleagues who ask why I'm not at the level my experience and skills dictate and I've stopped saying 'it's because I've been caring for my children' and saying 'academia was not conducive to me having children and actively opposed my family's diverse needs'
