Ghana are ranked 73 in the world, didn't qualify for the last AFCON, and a few months ago lost 5-1 to Austria. And they should have won the game. No, it's not a disaster. But it underlines a tournament problem bigger than Tuchel/Southgate. And the starting XI was questionable.

The best game of the tournament so far? And probably one of the best games in recent World Cup history. Incredible from Cape Verde. #WorldCup2026

John Stones has started a total of 23 Premier League games across the last THREE seasons (out of a possible 114). That's one in every 5. Why is he suitable to be starting for England at a World Cup? Especially instead of a man Pep Guardiola bought to replace him.
Hannah Klugman, 17, has just won her first WTA Tour main draw match by beating fellow Brit Harriet Dart (ranked 357 places above her). With her, 17-year-old Mika Stojsavljevic (WR 263) and 18-year-old Mimi Xu (WR 294), the future of British women's tennis is looking positive.
Exceptional from Katie Boulter to beat Australian Open champion Elena Rybakina at Queen's. The best win of her career and into the semi-finals.
The arguments in the studio definitely the best bit of the World Cup so far.
It's only 12pm and I've had enough of today. Who's got a good joke?
If you meet someone and they want to show you how they stop Formula 1 races, that should be a red flag.
Love sport? Love music? You need @wearetrackradio.bsky.social in your life. The UK's only sport-and-music radio station has launched. Already today they've talked football, cricket, horse racing, tennis and boxing, and played great songs. All sport, no ragebait. trackradio.com
You: Still doing Michael Jackson/Burnley puns. Me, an intellectual: He'll give them something.
@lilyfranklin.bsky.social hi Lily, not sure if you ever get on here but I saw a DM with a link from you on Twitter and wasn't sure if it was genuine or not.

If there was a film of your life being made, what content warnings would be shown before it?
The loss of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva is primarily a devastating tragedy for their families, friends and team-mates. It's also a huge loss for football. Diogo in particular was a selfless and clever player, an outstanding individual on and off the pitch.
🇬🇧 Second Brit through at #Wimbledon - and it's a massive moment for qualifier and SW19 debutant Oliver Tarvet from St. Albans (world number 733 and British #33!). 🎾 He wins in straight sets - and could face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz next! Incredible.
🇬🇧 Five Brits in action on the opening morning of #Wimbledon - and a big early victory! 🎾 Hove's Sonay Kartal, British #3 and world number 51, beats former French Open winner & 2018 Wimbledon semi-finalist Jelena Ostapenko, 7-5 2-6 6-2!

Can already picture the England press conference after day one. "Any questions for Ben?" *dozens of hands go up* "Any questions NOT about the toss?" *all hands go down* #ENGvIND
The problem with this ‘let’s weaken our commitment to the ECHR so as to fend off Farage’ plan is that when it doesn’t work, we end up with Farage *and* a weakened commitment to the ECHR at exactly the moment we need the ECHR the most.
Incredibly sad to learn that 1957 FA Cup hero Peter McParland has died. I was fortunate to talk with Peter in the media room at Fulham one day before a game. He was very self-effacing and generous with his time. An absolute legend who will be sadly missed. #AVFC
